Our Healthcare Program is designed to help participants achieve success in the Allied Health field. Participants will receive the foundational skills necessary to further their education in health care and ultimately gain meaningful employment. 

Completion of the BristolWORKS! class will prepare you for Allied Health programs including Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, and Veterinary Assistant through the CT State Colleges.

The Course

Our instruction is designed to assist participants in meeting the expectations of a health care curriculum and career. Participants will become familiar with the rigors of higher education and the specific skills needed to maximize their opportunity for academic and clinical success. The course will include a comprehensive overview of the body systems, as well as, the duties and responsibilities associated with clinical competency. In addition, interdisciplinary learning strategies, real-life experiences, employability skills, and critical thinking skills are included as part of the curriculum.

The four foundational training programs (Manufacturing, IT, Early Childhood Education, and Healthcare) that are funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) are free to those who live or work in Bristol and available to all others for a fee.
